I took off a few minutes early, plus got to work ahead of schedule for the past two days, and went down to the beach.
The first day was pretty fun. We went to the central Laguna Beach area with the playground, and tide pool area. We mainly just played in the surf, with the funny part of the day being when Ian lost his bucket in the water.
The waves were breaking pretty hard, and Ian merely layed the bucket down to catch the water, but thought it'd be fine just sitting there. It wasn't. It washed out to sea, and Daddy with his pants on went in after it.
After trying to find it in the sandy water and Jackie yelling "left" and "right" I saw it a few feet off to my right. Sure enough a huge wave decided to come in completely covering me in water. I wiped the water off my face, and looked up the beach. The bucket had lodged itself up the beach by itself. I honestly didn't mind though, as the water felt wonderfully refreshing and was one of the days that I wish I hadn't forgotten my swim trunks.

We just got back today from the beach. This time we decided to go up PCH a ways to try to find a more secluded area. We found an empty cove (amazing I thought) with a huge break, and rocks. The kids and I were able to stay on the fringe of the surf and have fun, but mostly it was nice to just be able to hear surf and no people. Two people ended up passing by us, but there was plenty of beach for everyone. There was a plaque on the house we passed on the way back to the car. It said something about it being saved from Bulldozers and how it could have become the "West's White House". Thought that was intereting. There was another "Pirate" house that actually looked like a pirate house plus had a pirate flag in the back. Coool.
